My Philosophy of Care
Women have special health care needs, and I believe they deserve specialized health care. That's why I created Vashon Women's Health Center. I believe we, as women, deserve a place of our own where we can feel like we are listened to, respected, and offered health care that encompasses our individual values, preferences, goals and needs. The care that I provide for my patients is designed to focus on the whole person -- mind, body and spirit. I feel my role is to help women live "healthfully" so they can live their lives to the very fullest.
I am a Nurse Practitioner. I am trained and licensed to diagnose and treat common health problems. I offer primary care services with an emphasis on women's health concerns. The care I provide is individualized for each woman, and I use a blend of traditional medicine and alternative approaches such as diet, exercise, vitamins, herbs, botanicals and relaxation techniques. I believe lifestyle choices are the basis of good health. Good nutrition, regular exercise, stress reduction nourish the body, mind and soul. I will support you in your efforts.

I love working with teens -- it's an exciting time in your life -- I love your exuberance and energy. I want to offer you support and guidance for your health care needs. I want you to know that I will listen to you attentively and provide you with the privacy and confidentiality you have a right to. In the state of Washington, teens have the legal right to obtain health services related to birth control and STD testing and treatment without their parents' consent. Please feel free to schedule your appointment during regular hours -- or -- I am also offering walk-in services for teens ages 13-19 during regular hours -- no appointment necessary.
